Afternoon Tea at Charlotte’s Ballantyne Hotel

Earlier this month I got to celebrate my friend’s birthday in the most glamorous way– afternoon tea at The Ballantyne Hotel! She was so excited for a fancy girls’ afternoon and insisited we all wear hats. But I told her I’d only be able to attend if I could bring Teagan.

I’d always dreamed of having afternoon tea with my child, of course I expected I’d be doing it with a little girl haha. But when this opportunity arose I thought it would be fun to do with my baby boy– before he was old enough to tell me no! So I put on his knit crown hat and we headed to Charlotte.

The entire afternoon was filled with glamour! Thats because the Ballantyne is an elegant property with gilded details all over. And every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday they offer Afternoon Tea from 1 pm-4 pm with specialty selected teas curated by Rare Tea Company, London. They also serve an impressive seletion of creative hors d’oeuvres that are not only pretty, but delicious. You can also pair your tea with a glass (or bottle) of champagne. We couldn’t get enough of the girly, old-world vibes and soaked up every single second.

If you’re interested in celebrating your next special occasion or reuniting with your girlfriends, you can make reservations by calling (704) 248-4100. They also offer private tea rooms for groups!

  1. I’m a native Charlottean and this makes me want to call my old squad for afternoon tea. Perhaps I’ll do a “tea” time with my daughters with lemonade or chocolate milk to make it special.

    • Hi Misty,
I love that this post reminded you of old friends! You should definitely make a “tea” party of your own, enjoy!
