It’s harvest season!! And while we’re definitely thinking about what will be available around the Thanksgiving table next week, we’re also thinking a lot about what it actually means to reap what you sow.

Often times that phrase has such a negative connotation; “reap what you sow”! As if the only time you feel the impact of your actions is when you’ve done something wrong.
But that couldn’t be further from the truth. And honestly, this time of year we’re looking for joy! In fact, we’re ready to reflect on this year and all the hard work we’ve put in!!
All the late nights or early mornings. All the moments this year when we could have stopped, but instead kept going. Look at where that that gotten us?!!
Of course, things could always be better, but things could be much worse! But where we are today is only because of what we’ve done in the past. That’s how a garden works! If you make a plan and stay consistent, eventually… one day… weeks later, you’ll have something/be something that you weren’t before.
Think about it: what if you had said no to that opportunity? Or didn’t show up that one day? Where would that have led you?
But instead you didn’t say no! But put your big girl pants on and did what needed to be done. And look at you today–
HAVESTING!
Of course for every lady, that looks different.
Maybe you hit a fitness goal, maybe you grossed more than ever before. It could be that you hit a milestone you’ve been aiming for, or you finally nailed that task after more tries than you want to admit. Either way! This Thanksgiving holiday, we believe this is what you should choose to celebrate and be thankful for: YOUR GARDEN!!!
While it easy to be thankful for what other people have done for you– and don’t get us wrong, that does deserve gratitude–it’s much harder to praise yourself for the things you’ve done day by day that may have only benefitted you. And while self-centered, those things are important and deserve you attention!!
After all, that’s the point of a Thanksgiving feast!! To reap the hard work you’ve put into your garden for weeks, by collecting a bounty so excessive that you have something left over.

So we dare you to spend the next week excessively praising yourself for all the accomplishments from this year. The ones that could so easily go unnoticed…by anyone other than you!
And that, my dear, is worth a slice of pie!! Here’s my go-to homemade crust for any pie I’ll ever make!!
