Christmas Day is near, and I’m really proud to say that I started purchasing gifts much earlier this year than I typically do. And that’s because I have a toddler that is truly anticipating the holiday for the first time. And because he’s finding the magic in everything, there is just so much excitement in the air. To say I’m excited just to be with him on Christmas morning is an understatement!
If you’re anything like me, you want to make sure that morning is living up to their expectations with something under the tree that leaves them saying ooh and ahh, but you want to ensure its something they’ll actually want to use even after the holiday is over. And if it’s something that can help them develop, well then that’s even better!
One of the toys that I have enjoyed watching Teagan play with the most is our Play Kitchen by Lalo. It’s sooo sweet watching him use his imagination while playing with me, or independently. Not only is imaginative play an important learning tool in toddler development, I love that this kitchen is a great way to subliminally abolish the stereotype that only women belong in the kitchen. Because it’s made of sage wooden pieces, instead of plastic pink ones, it feels “gender appropriate” next to his dinosaurs and tractor trucks. And I’ve found that he seems more interested in our actual kitchen since we’ve added this to his playroom.
The Play Kitchen // The Workbench
Because he and I both loved the Play Kitchen so much, Teagan will find the Lalo Workbench waiting for him under the tree on Christmas morning. He has a few tools sets that he loves to play with, so I know having an entire station is going to make him sooo happy!
Right now, Lalo is having a holiday sale with items marked down 40% and there is still just enough time to make it to you before Christmas. The workbench won’t arrive before Christmas, but we’ve put together a few of other favorites that we think would still make great gifts this year!
