Honestly– it’s kinda hard to believe but summer is almost over!!! If you live up North, then maybe you’re one of the lucky ones that spends the month of August on Martha’s Vineyard or the Hamptons. But if you, like us, are based in the South then you’re preparing for schools to resume and that routine of fall to kick in.
Lately around the PINCK HQ we can’t help but complain that summer has gotten away from us. Between travels and (well…) work, it feels like summer has flown by and we haven’t had very many of those longggg, lazy afternoons that the season is known for.
If you agree, then you’re in luck… in honor of stretching out the summer we’re going to spend the month of August helping you host your very own Adult Camp! Rather for a small group of friends (a cabin can only fit 6-8 people) or even just yourself, we’re going to share a few experiences with you for you to curate your very own camp experience.
If you follow MPR over on Substack then you know that this month we’re diving into the nostalgia of camp and why she believes it’s a crucial part in raising a well-rounded adult. If you don’t: read here.
Those who had the pleasure of attending camp as a child know just how exciting of a time it is in a young person’s life. It can be transformative, getting you out of your comfort zone! Or it can be a time for self-discovery, giving you the opportunity to introduce yourself to a side of you you haven’t yet met.
If you didn’t go to camp, this is your opportunity to kinda sorta get those experiences, but in a more adult, luxurious, comfort ftom your own bed …kinda way!! Don’t worry– we’ll give you a step by step guide how to do this throughout the month.

Growing up, packing for camping felt like one big adventure in itself. A few weeks before arrival you’re sent a list of things to bring. And then there’s the thrill of stuffing in all in a trunk before arriving to your bunk and getting the opportunity to use to all to create your own space.
Those nights away from home you really learn what an “essential” is– and you learn that different people put different importance on different things. And that’s fine!!
Since we aren’t sending any kids off to camp any time soon, we thought it might be fun to imagine what we’d consider “essentials” as grown (fabulous) women, if we attended an adult summer camp for a few weeks.
We asked the PINCK team what makes something an essential these days and we all agreed: Comfort, functionality, and something with just enough style!!
So, see below for what we’d pack to make camp feel less like “roughing it” and more like a stylish, grounded getaway…
Stay tuned Tuesdays and Saturdays each month for a complete guide to curating your own adult summer camp. And be sure to follow along on Substack and IG for more!
