Every summer, we try to make it across the pond and spend a few weeks in Europe. Trips like that are always a challenge, but since having Teagan it’s only gotten more challenging. Between reservations that allow toddlers, sleep schedules and food there’s a lot that goes it not taking a toddler overseas. But this was our second summer taking him, so I’m here to tell you it IS possible (here are some products I stand by to help)!
This year we traveled to Frankfurt, Germany and Budapest, Hungary (two new places for me) + back to Milan, Italy, Athens, Greece, and Paris. If you’re planning a trip to any of those cities keep scrolling for my list of: what to do, where to eat, what to shop, and where to stay!
Frankfurt, Germany
Where to stay:

- Walk the Riverfront Promenade and visit the Eiserner Steg (Footbridge)
- Take a free walking tour with Alternative Walking Tour (this was the first thing we did to acclimate ourselves with the city)
- Pay your respect + visit a Holocaust Memorial site (we visit this one)
- Try schnitzel + German beer
Where to Eat:

- Gasthaus Zum Bären– 20 mins from where we stayed, but felt super authentic + welcoming
- Wacker’s Kaffee Geschäft
Budapest, Hungary
What to Do:
- Take a sunset cruise on the Danube River between Buda + Pest
- Walk around Fisherman’s Bastion + Castle Hill District
- Solve a Crime with the Sherlock Code in the Buda Castle
- Enjoy the thermal baths @ Gellért Hill
- Take part in the “Fools & Kings” Buda Castle District Tour with Cake + Coffee
- Ride the Buda Castle Funicular

- Somewhere in the “Naviglio Pavese” district (we really loved Osteria del Gnocco Fritto)
Athens, Greece
What to do:
- Visit the ancient Acropolis of Athens
- Relax at a private beach club
