A PINCK Guide to: Newport, RI

Idk about y’all, but to us it felt like this entire summer saw the New England coastal aesthetic on full blast. Between Instagram feeds filled with Nantucket’s hydrangeas, Polo Ralph Lauren’s Oak Bluffs collection, and the popularity of Netflix shows based on the Elin Hilderbrand novels, it seems like everyone is yearning for an escape amongst the preppy elite.

MPR found herself on the island of Nantucket for the very first time at the start of this summer (click the link for our guide), and though she didn’t make it back to the Vineyard with her family this August,  she did get the opportunity to visit Newport, Rhode Island for the first time this month!

Newport has been a coastal escape for wealthy New Englanders since the 1800s. All these years later, it’s been able to keep its charm and still welcome millions of (different types of) vacationers each summer. There are those who come for the season, and those who just stay for a few nights. But all are sure to enjoy the coastal escape because it’s the kind of place that makes you slow down and savor the season– whichever that may be.

MPR made the trip alongside Printfresh, a female-owned textile company known for their bold, whimsical prints that are style inclusive and are sustainably made! (Use code PINCK10 for 10% off)

If a “New England summer” has even been on your bucket list I couldn’t recommend Newport enough. It was relatively easy to get to (especially in comparison to Nantucket and MV), you could tell those visiting were from all walks of life, and that charming village feel you’re looking for is evident throughout!

To help you prepare, we’ve curated the ultimate PINCK guide to Newport, RI based on MPR’s recent trip! From what she did to what she wish she had more time to do, we’re sharing everything you need to know.. and leaving off anything we think is worth skipping!!!
