I’ve been dreaming about this moment since last Christmas! Though I’m adamant on “no Christmas decor until after Thanksgiving”, last year we didn’t decorate our Lowcountry home for Christmas and I’ve been imagining a tree overlooking the river ever since. 

And wow it was worth the wait! Not only did I find the perfect decor to complement our coastal oasis, it happened just in time for Teagan to start comprehending the holiday season and all the magic it brings!

Just a couple of weeks ago, I along with several other influencers and STS lovers were invited to The Greenbrier to shoot the Sail to Sable x Style Charade Holiday 2022 Capsule Collection. I was sooo excited as I have always loved visiting this gorgeous place. If you have not heard of The Greenbrier before, it is a National Historic Landmark and a world-class resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, and has been serving guests since 1778.

Between my bachelorette party + the wedding, I haven’t had a chance to purchase anything for anyone. To say this year has been difficult would be an understatement. I think we’ve all been pushed to our limits in ways we didn’t even know were possible. But I was raised to believe that everything happens for a reason, and even during the struggle + the bad times, there is a lesson that makes that makes you stronger..and possibly the whole circumstance worth it.

This Thanksgiving looks soo different! I’m not gathering with my family around my Grandma’s dining room table, enjoying all of the dishes I’ve come to expect from the holiday, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t wake up with this immense feeling of gratitude.

I hate to admit it, but as you get older the feeling of the holidays really just isn’t the same. Sure, Christmas is much more than Santa Claus and gifts, but you have to admit that the anticipation to Christmas morning that you’d feel as a kid is nearly non-existent as adult. Honestly, I’m just excited about the day off and the meal my grandma will serve our family!

At this age, if you’re looking for a little holiday magic in your life you have to create it yourself.
