Bold Coats with Classic Silhouettes // January 10 Things

Winters in the South are always unpredictable. Temperatures can be in the low 40s one day, and the mid-70s the next. In fact, when Todd + I got married last month we were blessed with the most beautiful day because it was unseasonably warm. But January tends have the most foreseen forecast as it is the one month each year we can except the air to actually be cold. For that reason, January is the one month I really get to let my coat collection shine.

Rather I’m running errands around town, or meeting friends for a nice dinner, having smart outerwear options really makes pulling a winter look together effortless. When adding a coat to your wardrobe you should ensure it checks 3 important boxes: it should actually keep you warm, it should be of great quality (as it will be defending you from the elements), and it should make a statement– after all it will do the talking before your actual outfit does.

My collection of coats (that I honestly don’t get to wear often) is made up of puffer coats, fur coats, trench coats, parkas, and even cloaks/ponchos. But my absolute favorite style of coat is the double breasted or pea coat! Not only is the silhouette so classic and flattering, it’s incredibly sophisticated and it allows room for layering sweaters, scarves or fur stoles which when paired together really does elevate your style. So for this month’s 10 things, I’ve rounded up 10 coats to add to your collection. And the best part is, a lot of these styles are currently on sale 😉
