Month: August 2017

Boxed wine + tanlines

Party like its 1980-something!

The celestial event of the year

I spent so much time thinking about what we inherit and what we pass down that I forgot to think about the present.
It’s easy to get caught up in the hamster wheel of tomorrow, or even fall down a rabbit hole researching yesteryear.
But somewhere in between is what we make of the moment we’re living in right now.
And nothing dictates that more than our homes. I wanted my family to feel the intention I put towards our days— but I wanted to enjoy it, too.
So I made a promise to myself back in January to spend 2026 turning our house in Columbia into that kinda home.
We’re nearly done with October and I admit that I enter the doors with glee now, eager to light candles and signal a slower pace before turning on a record and letting the entire thing play!!
I’ve spent years preaching the importance managing your space, and I feel like *only now* does that exist in all aspects of my life.

Shoutout to the Facebook marketplace strangers that helped make this happen!!

The affordability crisis is getting ridiculous everywhere– and the truth is it doesn’t have to be!! But that’s what happens when the people in charge aren’t really “for the people”.

Please make a plan to vote in this midterm election, y’all!! It’s the only way to return power back to the people and make life affordable again.

Comment VOTE and I’ll send your specific polling location directly to your DMs (or simply visit the link in my bio)!!

Spent the weekend cosplaying as a Howard hottie saying “happy homecoming” at least 1000x. I obviously didn’t attend my husband’s Alma mater, but every time I’m on this campus I ask myself “what if”. 🦬❤️💙
