Due to Covid and having to limit our wedding to 20 people, I wasn’t able to have my best girls serve as my bridesmaids on my wedding day. But when I realized they were all still willing to make the trip to Charleston the weekend before just to celebrate me, I knew I had to gift each of them something special to tell them how thankful I was for their presence, and their friendship.

If I’m being completely honest with you… never in a million years did I think my bachelorette weekend would take place in my hometown. Sure, Charleston tops nearly every list for “best places to celebrate with your bridesmaids”, but because it’s where I grew up– and where I return at least once a week– I just assumed my celebration would take place somewhere a little less ordinary. Like NYC, Palm Beach… or even Paris!

Alas, COVID had very different plans for me and I found myself in the city I know all too well celebrating this big life change.

Todd is notorious for waiting until Christmas Eve to shop, but I have at least have a list of what to buy for whom written down.

To say this year has been difficult would be an understatement. I think we’ve all been pushed to our limits in ways we didn’t even know were possible. But I was raised to believe that everything happens for a reason, and even during the struggle + the bad times, there is a lesson that makes that makes you stronger..and possibly the whole circumstance worth it.

This Thanksgiving looks soo different! I’m not gathering with my family around my Grandma’s dining room table, enjoying all of the dishes I’ve come to expect from the holiday, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t wake up with this immense feeling of gratitude.
