I woke up that Wednesday not feeling quite like myself. I skipped out on Bible Study (which I usually try really hard not to do) and spent time resting alone until I had to run an errand + go to my hair appointment. Around mid-day, I began feeling cramps but I just powered through. My final stop was the grocery store, but walking around that old mill felt like torture, so I cut the trip short and headed home.

I’ve had my eye on today ever since I circled + starred it back in February. Because back then, my doctor told me September 27th, 2021 was the date I could expect(ish) my baby to arrive, and I’d been looking forward to it ever since. But Teagan had other plans and made his grand entrance on September 23rd. The extra 4 days with him have been tough, but they’ve been pure magic.

Crazy to think my baby boy will be here literally at any moment. I know I’ve said it before, but my pregnancy has seriously flown by and I just cannot believe I’m this close to the finish line. While I’ve been doing my best to prepare mentally + physically, I’d be lying if I didn’t say my nerves sometimes get the best of me.  Everyone says I’ll be fine and learn as I go because at the end of the day, no one really knows what they’re doing.

This past weekend a few of my friends hosted the most amazing baby shower in honor of Bebé Rutherford! It took place at The Barringer House + Gardens, a brand new venue space on USC’s campus. Though there was a torrential downpour that morning and most of the afternoon, the day was nothing short of magic.

The theme was a simple French phrase: le bebé! And all of the guests were asked to wear shades of bleu –a play on words from my first baby, my blog.

While baby showers are always joyous occasions, filled with love + anticipation, playing games at a baby shower can often times feel lame. Especially now that baby showers have turned into more of a co-ed event, most traditional games don’t bring the same amount to excitement that they once did.

It’s hard to believe that in a few short weeks I’ll be holding my baby boy in my arms! I’d be lying if I said my pregnancy hasn’t flown by. I swear it feels like I just found out we were expecting and now, we’re just over 5 weeks out!

In the past 8 months, I’ve added several new products to my life. Some of which I’ve loved, others not so much. But there have been a handful that have truly changed my pregnancy and made such a difference in my journey.

This past Thursday, we had my 20-week check in with my OB where we got the chance to see nearly all of baby’s body parts. At my last sonogram he was just a little bean and honestly still looked like a little alien. But during this one, he looked like an actual (mini) human being. We got to see his little feet, his head + brain, his tummy, and we even saw his heart beat.
